About Modern Stone Ages

Finally I finished Songs for Modern Stone Ages. Or at least audio portion of this project. As I have already said in a previous post, my idea is that this is accompanied by video creations. In my opinion it would add value to the project concept.

Speaking of concepts, personally I like to draw my own conclusions about what a expresion work want to tell. In other words, it is assumed that a painter paints because it is their means of expression. What he explained about what he wanted to say with the picture he painted, for me is immaterial. As much, if the work has interes to me, I could be interested also in the process. That said, I think I can spare the explanations. If anyone wants to know more about the concepts - I have no problem talking about it either - in order to create something else.

However, here are name and the lyrics of the songs. They are published with their respective songs. But seeing them together gives us one more perspective of "Songs for Modern Ages".

1. At Begin

2. Elementary Movements

"Movimiento – acción o efecto de moverse.
Estado de los cuerpos mientras cambian de lugar o posición.
Alteración, inquietud, conmoción.

Elemental. Adjetivo. Perteneciente o relativo a un elemento.
Fundamental, primordial. Física elemental.

Movimiento – Primera manifestación de un afecto, pasión o sentimiento.
Cambio rápido en la posición del arma."

(english translation)

Movement - moving action or effect.
State bodies while changing place or position.
Alteration, restlessness, shock.

Elemental. Adjective. Belonging or relating to an item.
Fundamental paramount. Elementary physics.

Movement - First demonstration of affection, passion or feeling.
Rapid change in the position of the weapon.

3. Expectation & Fear

4. You're Not Wrong

You're not wrong, but your shadows travel with your own.
You're not wrong, but candor don't sleep among us.
Waste of time, silence has more worth than empty words.
This is not a bong song, ring drums on horizon.
Luck has not time to sorry, don't be a fool.
You're not wrong, but this is not a Cris Isaak song.

5. Our Shadows

6. Departure

7. It's All Overrated

8. Flows Again

Flows, flows again.
We are just tiny particles scattered throughout the universe.
Elemental stardust that make planets, which form landscapes that do people.

No one is too important.
We are just memories fading in the future and nothing in the past.
Only in the now you matter.

Why do the same again?
cause every time will be different, even the same!
At every step, in every life, the singular occurs because each time is different.
Nothing more than that!.

Where this is going !!!

Even if this project, follow very few people, I feel motivated to explain the direction this is taking. "Sounds From the Living Room" has reached a point where it begins to take a specific form.

Thus arises "Songs for Modern Stone Ages". It will consist of a selection of some of the songs SFLR, but now with a sense beyond the creation process. Although the sound continues to play with a strong experimental basis, the individual sense be added in a broader context.

Once completed, you can receive a story with a beginning middle and end. At present, there are three finished pieces already available - even to the final selection may change. The pieces gain new edition and in some cases re-recording'm totally all tracks. Also in some I added voices and lyrics. Too much work.

The ultimate goal will be approximately 20 minutes of "soundscapes" that can be mounted in videos - or video - that reflect this history. Not trying to be the director of these videos, but if I see the need, maybe I should to get myself a hand cam.

All this from a context of a small town in northern Spain - which is not London, Berlin or New York. A country devastated by a severe recession that is leaving more than 25% of the workforce unemployed. Where conservatives yearn provincial fascism, and liberals seeking answers in a reality that does not exist for many decades. Populist and utopian speeches aside, this type of situation generates an excellent breeding ground for emerging private ideas that otherwise would stay opaque for everyday wellness.

On the other hand, it seems like an idea wins final form; emerges others of a less experimental, more structured songs and digestible for a wider audience. Here are versions like Brian Maggot, Bold As Love and Sweet Dreams. More versions and songs are coming in this sense ...

In closing, this blog is likely to also be unchanged in terms of content. Besides information about the songs also appear more my opinions, tastes and preferences, people I admire, and other thoughts about what I'm round the head. We'll see.

"More difficult than harmony, chords and riffs is to know why you do it."

ps. I would like to say thanks to the people that is doing comments, following me and giving me "likes" on soundcloud. You are great.

Maggot Brian

A version of Maggot Brain, of the brilliant Eddie Hazel of Parliament Funkadelic. Eddie blend blues-funk and psychedelia in abundance and get a heartrending song.

Always from the bowing, in my personal view I get worried at this embers emotion.
I hope you enjoy.
